Vick not the NFL's Biggest Problem - Player Killings

Let's get real I was reading an article on ESPN today and while Michael Vick is an issue, they have much bigger problems. Over the last 2 years, 2 players have been shot and killed and 2 others have been injured. A conduct policy isn't going to keep your players from going places that are likely to get them shot, personally I don't think it's the leagues responsibility to police this type of activity but the teams.

Consider the Chicago Bears, they let go of running back Cedric Benson after his second arrest this past summer. Now in no way am I comparing DWI to someone being shot, but if you hang out with criminals eventually it's going to catch up with you.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that if you're an extremely talented athlete, especially a football player then society will forgive. Michael Vick is a talented player and if he can help sell tickets and his team win, he'll always get a second chance.

There are far less a percentage of NFL players arrested than the general population. The problem is a 24 hour news cycle and a sports media that is slowly turning into Access Hollywood. We need SPORTS NEWS and not 50 articles and Espn segments on Chris Henry's latest traffic ticket. Athletes should be admired for their athletic ability and that's it!
