I was thinking today about the business aspect of a new football league, and I couldn't help but wonder what I'd do.
First, think about it from the business perspective, if you've been at one company for 2 or 3 years and haven't really gotten a promotion or raise outside of the minimum, wouldn't the idea of a raise sound pretty inviting? I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure that I'd at least think long and hard about making the move.
Add to that the opportunity to play a bigger part of the team instead of just being a bench warmer or practice squad member then the option looks even better. Does that mean that the product will be the NFL, no it won't, but you'll still be able to get NFL level talent, that probably adds an element of name recognition. I've even seen articles about the UFL being the "Black Quarterbacks League." I'm not sure I'm ready to jump on that band wagon, but I will say that there are several black QB's out there who were formerly starters in the NFL and are now holding the clipboard, and let's be honest no one wants to do that if they can still get on the field.
